DETECTIVE BAR

On the corner of Tremont Ave in the Bronx sits a small unassuming bar called McDermott’s Pub. The humble exterior is comparable to many bars, on many corners, in many cities. The modest exterior is in stark contrast to the stories that are held within its walls. McDermott’s Pub is a local watering hole for retired New York City detectives. It is where these men and women go to relive old stories; relate to one another; vent; and ultimately, heal. For many retired detectives, McDermott’s acts as a sanctuary for therapy, religion, and as a home filled with brothers and sisters. Get a fly on the wall perspective in the new Doc series DETECTIVE BAR. In each hour episode, viewers are given an all-access pass to sit in on the conversations that take place in McDermott’s Pub. Find out what it was really like to work on the gritty streets of New York. Each episode will highlight 3-4 retired detectives from homicide, narcotics and undercover. Watch as we dive deep into 2 horrific crimes and relive the events through reenactments, archival footage, and revisiting the scene of the crime. Viewers will watch as the detectives meet each other and trade stories. Hear first hand accounts of the events according to the detective on site, and how those events still affect them today. Throughout the series, subject topics that range from horrific to haunting will be relived. Find out what its really like to be a New York City Detective on DETECTIVE BAR.
